Mauser C-96 Military/Commercial," Red 9", Cal 9mm Ser. 291XX.
This is a real scarce beauty, 100% correct and in the proper serial number range. The finish is a surprising 95+%. The only loss is due to some sharp edge silvering and the usual thinning of the blue on the bottom of the barrel from rubbing inside the holster/stock.
There are no scratches, rust or flaking anywhere. The fire blued extractor, trigger, safety and sight slide are also at least 95%. The rear grip strap does show the usual rub mark from a shoulder stock attaching metal... But even that is a little light.
All numbered parts match. The barrel group, frame, sub frame and bolt. The hammer is correctly marked" NS" for new safety. The grips are totally correct and are also numbered to the gun.
The bolt face, slide rails and feed ramp show very little use.
The barrel is the final testimony to the wear of a firearm. The barrel is pristine. The bore is sunshine bright with razor sharp rifling. There is not a hint of frost.
The gun comes with an original holster/stock numbered 298. The condition of it is super. Usually after 100 years they have several splits and pieces missing. This one has none. The rear hinge assembly does have some scattered surface pin pricks. The Red 9 with the holster/stock makes a beautiful impression, something you can be proud of.
