22" Tapered octagon bbl is fitted with quarter rib mounted with Kahles Helia 4X Scope in claw bases Scope has heavy post and crosshair reticle and is in well made claw rings with scroll engraving to match action. A single standing leaf rear site is fitted, along with front ramp with silver bead. Top of bbl. is engraved; "H. LEUE HOFBUCHSENMACHER, BERLIN" Coin finished, scallop-backed, boxlock, tip down, top leaver action is fitted with Greener type side safety and dbl (set) triggers. Bbl is stamped with German imperial proof dated 7/27
Action is engraved with 90% coverage very well cut small Germantic scroll with floral highlights which surrounds well rendered small sized game scenes; stag and hind on left and a pair of hounds taking down a wild boar on right. Trigger guard is of horn. Wood is exceptional, wonderfully fiddle figured and nicely streaked dark European walnut with round knob pistol grip buttstock, measures 13-7/8" over checkered horn buttplate and features large shallow line right hand cheekpiece, inset arrowhead horn drop points, and boarderless point pattern checkering. Forestock extends to muzzle and has flared schnabled horn tip. Removable portion for takedown has Deeley release. Forestock is fitted on both sides with unique outward pivoting tree hooks to stabilize rifle while taking aim in woodlands. Quite rare. Wt. w/o scope 7lbs.3oz
