Description:
We are offering for sale a Third Model WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 chambered in 44-40 WCF caliber. This is a standard 24” Round Barrel example with nice overall patina. Serial number indicated 1884 year of manufacture.
24” barrel is good showing a brown/grey patina. Bore is fair to good with surface pitting; light rifling. Front blade sight; Rear buckhorn sight with elevator. Full magazine tube. Receiver is good with matching patina to the barrel; Original dust cover intact on rail integral with frame. Lever action works flawlessly and locks tightly. Shoulder stock was exposed to heat at some point and shows signs of such; There a couple small closed cracks that happened as a result of the exposure. Fore-end is very good with normal wear; patina.
