Description:
Colt saa "etched panel" 44-40 cal. with 7.5" barrel.  Comes with Colt factory letter, shipped in 1879 to St. Louis MO.  Has original walnut stocks that fit perfect and a well worn but readable panel.

Known as the" Frontier Six Shooter" which Colts acid etched on the left side of the bbl., usually worn off, so this is a greart prize for collectors.  This being an early example of the so-called "etched panel" as collectors have deemed them, makes it even more desirable.  Few early EP's exist from this early period 52xxx range, very close to a O,K. corral gun 51xxx range of Ike Canton.  or Frank Mclaury's gun. also a 44 EP.  Condition is nice for its age, with a gray/brown patina.  Good bore and action.
