Description:
The Colt single action rimfires are by themselves a rare find, but to have two matching Rimfires both with original ivory grips and being in sequence by serial numbers is off the charts rare!
serial No. 609 and 610 both are about the same condition, being a smooth brown/gray patina with wonderful dealer applied original ivory grips showing great character with mellow yellowed tone and age lines and tree ring age lines on butt.
Both guns have good bores and all original parts and bbl.s have been ex-rayed to make sure they haven't been "cut" and re-welded as so many have. These were used hard, mostly sent to Mexico or South America as the 44 rf cal. had become obsolete and Sam Colt had gone to the centerfire cartrige. The hot wet climate did much damage to the metal, as a result this model is usually found in rough shape, pitted and not taken care of. they were used hard by desperados. These are in very good conditon , considering most went south of the border. both come with factory letters confirming rim fire model.
