Visit Our Website Description: The New Smith & Wesson Model 3 Revolver In 1878 the improved New Smith & Wesson Model 3 Revolver was introduced. This New Model 3 is serial numbered 11234. All numbers match. According to the "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" this gun was likely manufactured in the first year of production. These revolvers were chambered in .44 Russian. This revolver has a lot of old blue remaining mostly faded to a dark plumb brown. Some light pitting on the surface, but mostly smooth patina. The gun is mechanically perfect and lock up super tight. The 1878 original grips have no chips or cracks and show almost no wear. The bore has some light pitting with very strong rifling. Good shootable bore. Most good gun shop carry .44 Russian cowboy loads today. This is an ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to you.
