Description:
SOLD...Antique Smith & Wesson #2 Army. Here is a bit better than average little Smith & Wesson #2 Army. Has the standard 6" barrel. S/N 59870. All matching assembly numbers of course. The gun has very good traces of original blue on the frame and a little along the barrel rib. The balance of the metal is a pretty smooth medium brown patina. Never cleaned on or messed with. Shows a very minor fine pin prick pitting on ther upper part of the frame and a little on the barrel in front of the cylinder. A little on the cylinder in a couple small areas.. Nothing deep or detracting from the gun at all. Markings are very good. The mechanics are excellent. The cylinder has a little play at lock up but has NO cylinder wobble side to side or front to rear movment. Rock solid hinge with NO play. Rock solid fit to the frame at the latch also. Very crisp and tight little gun here. Much better than most you will find. Not all loose and rattly.. The grips are excellent with most all the varnish. One very small and minor sliver at the heel on the left grip.[see photo}.. No other chips or cracks or issues.. A perfect factory fit and numbered to the gun. The bore shows some black powder roughness but strong rifling. The chambers are all very good also. Not a bad Smith #2 Army at all and at a very reasonable price.
