Springfield Armory. M1 Garand. Cal. 30-06. 24" barrel with a very good bore showing strong rifling with some light frosting. This is a 1945 produced rifle with a "6-44" dated barrel and a "DRC" marked rear sight elevation knob, all other parts are correctly marked. The metal surfaces retain 98 % arsenal greenish grey parkerized finish with light silvering along the edges and gas tube. The elevation knobs retain 95% original blue toning to brown. The walnut stock and handguards rate very good plus with light handling marks and a "S.A./ G.A.W." inspectors cartouche next to small crossed cannons ordnance escutcheon in the left side of the stock, circle "P" firing proof in the grip. Included with the rifle is a contemporary brown military sling. An overall very good late-war Garand rifle. Serial # 33180XX
