William Evans Sidelock, circa 1898, 12 bore, 2 1/2" chambers, 30" original nitro reproved (in 1977 at 3 Tons) fluid steel barrels, choked .012 IC and .030 Lt. Full, extractors, 6 lbs. 6 oz., 14 1/2" LOP over checkered butt, 1 1/2" DAC, 2 1/4" DAH, 1/4" cast off for right hand shooters, bold acanthus scroll engraving with the lockplates engraved inside a banner "William Evans", straight grip, splinter fore end, double triggers, vacant gold oval in stock, rib engraved "William Evans From Purdeys, 63 Pall Mall, St. James London", automatic safety, disc set strikers. Bores .740 and .740 and so stamped in the proof marks, minimum wall thickness .022 and .022. Excellent condition without issue and ready for the field. William Evans is of course still in business in London with a long history in the gun business.
