Description:
Civil War Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver - Cal. .31 - 6" Bbl. - 6 shot - SN 198543 (1862) all matching numbers except wedge. Bore is VG+ with sharp rifling - excellent action with perfect timing and lock-up - excellent screws. Excellent metal with no rust, pits, or corrosion - sharp markings - barrel retains 85% + blue with some thinning in spots - sharp edges - the cylinder has75% - 80% thinning blue with crisp scene. Frame has drifted to a gray patina with traces of faded case color in a few areas - guard and backstrap are untouched and have a nice mellow tone. Grips are excellent and undamaged with perfect fit to frame and retain 90% + finish, showing only slight wear on lower edges. A very sharp old 1849 with the desirable 6" barrel, all origininal and unaltered (except for wedge) in FINE or better condition that will make a great addition to a Civil War or early Colt collection.
