Description:
This is an interesting Winchester Model 1885. The rifle was made in 1891. The barrel is an Octagon number 4 weight with the 4 stamped under the forearm. The rifle barrel has been sleeved and is chambered in .17 HMR. The barrel is mostly an even brown patina with very little blue remaining. The receiver has very good case color and it looks to be original. The wood is nice but nothing special and the forearm has an ebony insert into the Schnabel. The rifle has a set of custom scope bases and Redfield offset rings with a Burris 6.5 X 20 power scope. This interesting rifle is ready for the field or range.
