Description:
1940 Colt Official Police chambered in .22lr with a 4'' barrel and blue finish. This revolver is new in the original box numbered to the gun. It was shipped September 30, 1940 to Joseph A. Lorch in Washington D.C. Lorch handled military contracts and experimental guns for Colt. To say this gun is rare would be an understatement. I know of only one other example in existence. I have spoken to the owner of the other one and it was also a Lorch shipped gun. It also has a ramped front sight and 2 3/4 lb. trigger pull. While there may be other examples out there they have not surfaced during the many years I have been dealing in Colts. The finish is exceptional and rates 99% with just the slightest of handling. The grips are in the same excellent condition as the gun itself. This gun is for the advanced Pre-War collector who has everything else.
