Up for sale today is an excellent Winchester Model 70 serial no. 129572 (1948) chambered in caliber .30 GOV'T.'06. This outstanding example of a pre-'64 Model 70... the "Rifleman's rifle"... shows the excellent fit and finish and outstanding original bluing that Winchesters of this vintage are known for. It has its original front sight and sight hood, original steel Winchester buttplate and buckhorn rear sight and the comb of the stock has an inlaid compass. Rifle has a mint bore. An excellent original pre-64 Model 70 and a great addition to any collection.
