Description:
Manufactured by Ethan Allen and Charles Thurber in 1847, this gun was most likely assembled at their facilities in Worcester, Mass. after the firm moved from Norsich, CT of that year. Known as the standard or medium size, this .31 caliber pepperbox has 3 1/2 inch barrels and is equipped with a nipple shield. The hammer is engraved with the name "J. Eaton", likely the owner of the gun, the metal surfaces of the frame are lightly scroll engraved, and it is ivory gripped. It is cased and comes with a leather covered powder flask, and a cleaning/ram rod. It is in good working condition and very attractive. The case is in excellent, original condition.
