Description:
This rifle is one of the most attractive of the Winchester Commemoratives. It came out in 1970 to honor the 125th year of Texas Statehood. It has several features not found on many of the Winchester Commemoratives: 1/2 round 1/2 octagon 26" barrel, deluxe walnut pistol grip stock, and a 1/2 length magazine tube. This example has been shot but it is still in very good condition overall. The gold finished receiver shows some thinning in spots like the lower edges but still would rate near 95%. The blued bolt, barrel, and mag tube are all near perfect condition and would rate at 99%. The mechanics and the bore are excellent. The wood is free from cracks or repairs and is nice and tight to the metal. This would be a great rifle for the collector who would like to show it off but still shoot it without feeling like they are hurting it in the process.
