CONDITION: Excellent. A well balanced dangerous game rifle.
This well made rifle has 24-3/8″ chopper lump bbls fitted with quarter rib, which is mounted with standing leaf express rear sight and scope bases. Top of rib is engraved “JOHANN FANZOI – ARMS FERLACH”. Abrupt front ramp holds gold bead. Engine turned bbl flats are stamped with 1971 Ferlach nitro proofs. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with caliber and steel type (Bohler Antinit). French gray sidelock action features non-automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, side clips, reinforcing bolsters, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, gold-plated internals, and gold-plated dbl triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with 80% coverage various sized scroll within scroll and vine engraved borders. Scroll engraved top lever and trigger guard are blued. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Bbls retain nearly all of their orig satin blue with some light marks. Coin finish of action is also excellent, with some slight darkening, most likely from accumulated oil.
Well marbled, dense European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8″ over dark brown leather covered pad, and features drop points, point pattern checkering with dbl line borders, and shadow line right hand cheekpiece. Matching long semi-beavertail ejector forend has Deeley release.Drop at heel: approx 2-7/8″, drop at comb: approx 1-15/16″. Weight without scope: 9 lbs 8 oz. LOP: 14-5/8″. Stocks have some light handling marks in what appears to be their orig hand rubbed oil finish. Checkering lightly worn. Scope is excellent, optically clear. Zeiss Diavari – C 1.5 – 4.5 x 18 scope with duplex reticle is in claw rings. Included with rifle are three 20 rnd boxes of RWS solids.
