The gun was most likely made in the late twenties (based on the proof marks).
It remains in excellent condition retaining 95% of its original finishes. 2&1/2 inch shells are readily available from RST and others. These shells pattern well and are more than adequate for most upland game.
This is a well balanced lively bird gun. I am reducing the price of this gun to $1100. You will not find a better English sidelock at this price!!
