U.S. 26TH INFANTRY YANKEE DIVISION M1917 DOUGHBOY AEF WW1 OR WWI CEM OR SBR GAS MASK & CARRYING BAG. Complete with filter, dimming compound, attached booklet( record of use), and bag marked with GI's name, unit (Wagoner unit) and HQ location. From old collection. Box filter with original yellow paint. G.I.'s name and unit as well as the YD symbol for the 26th Yankee Division as well as Wagon Wheel symbol hand drawn on pouch. The Yankee Division was the largest National Guard division sent to France after the Big Red One arrived. Interestingly enough the Yankee Division suffered from the most mustard gas casualties than any other unit during WW1. Further research might produce results. The Yankee Division was made of primarily of New England men.
