Description:
Jaeger (which means Hunter) rifles were generally of large bores as this one is. 69 cal percussion which has been converted from flintlock. 31" oct bbl with rifling. Full stock. Brass furniture. The metal is a deep brown patina. No bbl markings. Rear sight missing. Lock plate says "London Warranted". This gun has the longer Kentucky style patch box on the right hand side. It also has a flip piece of brass on the bottom of the gun for putting additional shooting supplies in. This gun was originally a set trigger. It is now a single trigger. Trigger and hammer do function. Very simple carving in the wood. Not sure if it was done at the time the gun was made or most likely later by some one who was bored. A very old piece of history.
