Description:
The S&W .38 Safety Hammerless Fifth Model was made from 1907 to 1940, with about 41,500 manufactured. The 5-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 2,3 1/4, 4, 5, or 6 inch barrel, blue or nickel finish, "S&W" monogram checkered hard rubber or checkered walnut grips, and was chambered in .38 S&W. This 1907 to 1909 vintage gun is as described, is fitted with a 3 1/4 inch barrel, checkered hard rubber grips, and is blue finished. It is in very fine condition, retaining about 80% of its original blue finish, with nicely fitting grips which have some minor handling marks, and no cracks or chips. The bore is bright but does have some areas of corrosion. The action functions well, with tight lock-up, and the grip safety works perfectly. Neat little gun.
