Attention shooters and collectors! Up for sale today is an outstanding US Springfield M1 Garand Type II National Match serial no. 5895850 chambered in caliber .30-06. This outstanding original Type II National Match started life as a Type I National Match and was upgraded to a Type II. It shows a National Match op rod, front sight, rear hooded peep sight, and the reinforced stock shoulder that serves as an evolutionary step towards stock bedding. Rifle shows outstanding finish of both wood and metal, and has a barrel date of "SA 8-52. The barrel is star gauged and shows National Match markings. The bore is mint with a throat erosion reading of 3 and a muzzle wear reading of 1.75. Rifle comes with an original USGI canvas sling and a letter from the Department of the Army showing proof of sale as a National Match rifle on 23 February 1963. An absolutely outstanding example of a Type II National Match and a fantastic addition to any discerning connoisseur's collection.
