Description:
Serial #10235, .31 Cal., 5” octagon barrel with a very good bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This is a seldom seen, London marked '49 Pocket, assembled in Hartford without British proofs. The revolver has all matching numbers (including the arbor and wedge) while the metal has an overall plum-brown patina streaked with pewter gray, brightest along the exposed edges. The cylinder and frame have an overall dark plum-brown patina mixing with some light pitting, especially along the rear of the cylinder. The iron trigger guard and back strap have retained 85-90% of the original silver, and the walnut grip has a slightly dull oil finish with minor impact marks and small surface blemishes. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. This is a fine little Hartford-London '49 Pocket and would make an excellent addition to a collection. Antique
