Description:
Winchester Model 1873 Sporting Rifle .44-40, "Third Model", with what appears to be the heavier #2 Barrel. The rear sight is the earliest "Clover Leaf" type. The bore is very good with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. Overall condition is very good with 20-25% of the original untouched factory rust blue. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with no damage observed.
