Remington New Model Army 44 caliber.8" octagon barrel with a mint bore.Shipped in 1863 to the 6th Michigan cavalry according to Springfield Research,this revolver has all of the correct government inspectors marks.It has full coverage floral engraving and a nickel finish.Since it has all the correct martial markings,it is possible that it could be factory engraved,but it cannot be verified.If it is aftermarket engraved,it is very old and super high quality work.The gun is is excellent condition mechanically and the bore and cylinder are mint.A great gun that is historical and a true piece of art.Classified as an antique.
