Sold Pending Funds / S & W "U.S. Navy Contract" Victory Model Revolver, serial # V 43xx9, cal. 38 Special, has a 4" barrel with an excellent bore. This revolver retains about 85% original dull blue finish with the grip frame thinning to brown. The standard hammer and trigger retain bold case-hardened colors with light operational wear and minor freckling. The smooth walnut factory grips rate good to very good but are not correctly numbered to the gun and exhibit scattered dents, dings, and scratches. The left grip panel shows substantially more and heavier marks than the right. The barrel, frame and cylinder are correctly numbered to the gun. The topstrap is marked "U.S. NAVY" and the left side of the frame is marked "PROPERTY OF / U.S. NAVY". It appears the trigger pivot pin was replaced in the frame and staked in place. The timeing and lock up remain excellent, the lanyard loop is present. A nice old Navy revolver showing some honest use. The overall condition is good plus plus - very good. Inv.: # 1-1315
