WW2 Springfield Armory M1 Garand serial number 30152xx, manufactured July 1944. SA 2-44 barrel, with a bright bore. All marked parts are Springfield including the stock, marked "GAW" with crossed cannons.  All parts are described below and shown in photos. No import marks.
 
This rifle is in very good used condition. We test fired the M1 and it performed well, cycling through a full clip, ejecting the clip at the end.

SA sn 30152xx Specs:
 
  • Receiver: marked “D 28291 34” on leg, heat lot 0775A. Excellent condition, no pitting. We believe the finish is original.
  • Barrel: marked “1 S A 2 44” in op rod slot, “D35448-28-Y-61=A” on top, with “M”, small stars and eagle and misc other marks. Bore is bright, good rifling and crown.
  • Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW(muzzle wear): 1, TE(throat erosion): 2 1/2
  • Lower band: two-piece flat top, solid pin
  • Clip latch: late square front type, unmarked
  • Op rod: flat side, marked “D35382 SA”
  • Op rod catch: late type, unmarked
  • Bullet guide: stamped without notch
  • Follower: late type, marked “12”
  • Follower arm: no bevel
  • Follower rod: long fork, riveted
  • Bolt: marked “D28287-18SA 011B<>”
  • Rear sight base: late SA type, unmarked
  • Sight knobs: lockbar, SA
  • Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
  • Rear sight aperture: double track, unmarked
  • Trigger housing:  marked “D28290-14-SA” Small pad, cloverleaf hole
  • Trigger guard: milled WWII type, marked “Q”inside
  • Trigger: late type, no extra hole
  • Hammer: marked “C46008-5 SA”
  • Hammer spring plunger: early type with wings
  • Safety: round top, marked “C46015-9SA”
  • Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring, punch mark and “4” on bayonet lug. GC group finish VG.
  • Front sight: 0.65 wide, unmarked.
  • Gas cylinder lock: beveled front type, unmarked
  • Gas cylinder screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “P” and triangle
  • Stock: walnut, marked S.A. G.A.W. in box, with crossed cannons. Circled “P” on pistol grip, small crossed cannons on grip cap, and several painted number markings. No cracks, about average dings/scratches, nice appearance.
  • Handguards: walnut, same condition and appearance as stock.
  • Buttplate: appears to be WWII SA type, good condition with finish wear
  • Sling: used, commontype
Extras: two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) and a canvas bandolier
