Very life-like, deeply cut engraving of a setter & pheasant on the left and 4 flushing mallards on the right are surrounded by lighter arabesque scroll on the coin finished receiver. Heavily streaked, European walnut is used for the raked & rounded, semi-pistol grip stock. This beautiful wood is also used for the 3 piece forend which features Deely type release hardware. The vent rib is stamped "Gebr. Merkel Suhl Made in GDR".
