Description:
Antique 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver Artillery Model

With Springfield & Great War Provenance!

Here we present an antique 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver Artillery Model, made prior to 1898 and brought back from Europe by a returning American G.I. The Colt Single Action Army is a worldwide icon of the United States of America and the Western Frontier. Wielded by both the worst of men and the best, the famous Single Action Army is also well-known as the Peacemaker.

The Artillery or Springfield Armory Model of the Single Action Army is a period armory or factory refinished gun. In all but the rarest variant of the Artillery Model, the serial numbers will be mixed. There will also be a “U.S.” mark.

This six-shooter is chambered in .45 Colt and features a 5.5 inch barrel. The grips are walnut and in excellent condition. This is the “Type I” Artillery Model, which is defined by the serial numbers not matching. The handsome nickel finish is nearly 100%. This gun is in excellent condition. The initials “J.T.C.” on the bottom of the frame indicate that it was inspected by John T. Cleveland.

This fantastic revolver comes with two documents. One is a detailing of the different serial numbers on the gun. The serial number on the frame was confirmed as having been sent to Springfield Armory on October 19, 1896. The other document details part of its provenance, telling in brief how American G.I. Paul McInturff brought it back from Europe after World War I. It also details the chain of ownership from there.

This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 5.5 inches in length.

Caliber: .45 Colt

Bore is in excellent condition and the firearm is in good working order.

Overall condition as seen in photos.

Here is a superb, nickel-finished 1st Generation Single Action Army for your fine collection.
