This model saw just under 65,000 made, and those under serial number 63953 are made prior to 1899, making this an antique and requiring no FFL. These guns were designed by the famous John Moses Browning and are considered the first successful lever action shotgun. Unfortunately, they were fast eclipsed by pump action shotguns. These were also made as black powder guns, not to be used with smokeless powder or 2 ¾” shells. This example is in very good condition. The patina is nice, the lettering clear, and the wood in good condition. Bore is very good and the action is excellent. Make this fantastic 1887 shotgun a part of your collection. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 29 inches in length. Caliber: 12 gauge (2 5/8”) Bore is in very good condition. The firing mechanism functions very well.
