Description:
Antique Joslyn Model 1864 Civil War Cavalry Carbine

Much Used Union Cavalry Carbine with Initials “L.A.F.”

Here we present an antique Joslyn Model 1864 Civil War Cavalry Carbine, made circa 1864 in Stonington, Connecticut. 8,000 of these carbines were purchased by the Union during the American Civil War, and they were heavily allocated to cavalry regiments such as the 4th and 8th Indiana, 19th New York, 13th Tennessee, 9th Pennsylvania, 3rd West Virginia, 2nd Wisconsin, 1st Nebraska, 1st Nevada and 11th Ohio.

This specimen is in very good condition. The cartouches remain sharp and legible. Both are “FDL”. The initials “L.A.F.” are carved into the butt stock. Serial numbers match. Metal surfaces are smooth. Wood stock is much handled as you might expect a 150 year old Civil War carbine. Still, very solid and a very nice example.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 22 inches in length.

Caliber: .52 rimfire

Bore is in good condition and the firearm is in good working order.

Overall condition as seen in photos.
