Description:
FRANZ SODIA BOCKBUCHSFLINTE 16 ga. x .222 Rem ... 23 3/4” Bohler stahl barrels, top choked full, with bright excellent bores ... auto saftey ... double triggers rifle is single set trigger ... silver bead front and standing leaf rear sights.

The barrels retain about 97% original blue, the loss is due primarily to even fading. There is light geometric engraving at the breeches and the hand-matted rib is maker marked. Imported by and retailer-marked “Flaigs” on the triggerguard bow, the scalloped frame shows nice engraved game scenes left and right of North American turkey and ringneck pheasant, also with some nice quality loose flowing scroll on the belly of the action.

The classic style pistolgrip stock rates very good plus to excellent with a gloss finish. There is a left-side rounded shadowline cheekpiece, grooved buttplate and a steel pistolgrip cap which is lightly engraved. The field style forend is in a similar state of condition and the checkered patterns have nice mullered borders.

The gun is sighted with a simple silver bead front sight and single standing leaf rear, the rib shows four drilled and tapped holes, no doubt for scope base mounting. Features automatic safety and double triggers, the front being single set. A very nice Sodia overall in a very handy configuration.
