Description:
Early Winchester 1st Model 1873 Deluxe with 26 Inch Barrel and Set Trigger. Serial # 4xxx.  Wood retains 85-90% Original Varnish with some expected minor dings and handlling marks.  Nothing Serious ( See Photos ).  Checking is Excellent with no sign of rework or chasing.  Very Sharp.  Receiver retains nice even and somewhat faded Case Colrs and traces everywhere the colors should be.  ( See Photos ).  Original Barrel and Magazine Blue is in the 85-90% Range with normal wear on the sharp barrel edges which is to be expected on a gun built in 1875 ( 142 Years ago ).  The bore is a little dark but still Very Good.  This gun has been handled more than it was carried and shot.  The Rear Tand Sight is not original and unmarked except for a 73 on the bottom.  The rear sight on the barrel appears to be vintage but a replacement after the tang sight was mounted. This  one is pretty rough considering the condition of the rest of the gun.  That would be the only negative on the gun in my estimation and others that have seen it.  The original was most likely misplaced or lost and the one on it now was all that could be found at a much later date.  It is my understanding that this gun came from Canada.  A Very Nice 1st Model Deluxe that letters excluding the tand sight  (See Photo).  Antique, no papers required for transfer.  Thanks for Looking.
