For Sale or Layaway: Colt Argentine Sistema Model 1927 1911 converted to 22LR trainer for Police Depts by Marcati. As the Argentina government transitioned to Browning Hi-Power pistols, many out-of-service Colt Sistema 1911s were converted to 22LR for training purposes. This pistol uses the floating chamber barrel design, has been test fired and functions properly. The design is based off of the Colt Ace since the Sistemas are, in all aspects of quality/manufacturing, a Colt 1911. Argentina purchased Colt 1911 drawings and manufacturing rights in 20s/30s. With Colt techicians and West German equipment, started producing Sistemas from 1945-1966. These are very fine and affordable examples of the Colt M1911A1s. The 22LR trainer conversions were done by two companies, Venturini and Macarti. Both did quality work with Venturini completing a high number of conversions. This one is a Bacarti conversion and such is shown by the finish and grips. It appears the finish is in the original black oxide with some Patina present and no pitting. The grips are original Argentina black checkered grips that are quite worn but by no means related to the life or use of the pistol. These grips wore down quickly and many were replaced to later Colt Keyes style. Two magazines are included. One has been repaired but seems to function properly. Pistol will be shipped in a soft zippered case with insurance coverage. This is an excellent example of 1911 design and fuction for a very affordable price.
