Description:
Sharps 1874 Sporting Rifle. Made in 1876 and shipped to John Lovell who was a gun and sporting goods dealer in Boston, Massachusetts. Gun has a 28” barrel in .44 caliber (we believe it’s .44-90, but this gun needs to be taken to a gunsmith to have the caliber determined). Metal has a smooth gray patina. Wood was refinished long ago. Nice sharp gun. Bore has strong rifling with spots of minor pitting. Gun comes with a factory letter confirming all features. Nice sharp Sharps 1874 Sporting rifle!
