It was manufatured at the turn of the Centry and put away until the forties when it was sent back to Smith for a full restoration. ( butt stamped . .Since the work was done by Smith you could make a case that it was original.Now comes the good part. The condition is flawless. There are no polish marks,flaking or thinning of the finish--any where! The bore matches the extderior. This was a favorite gun for Jesse James, Buffalo Bill Cody and Annie Oakly, It is a rare rig that you can buy at a fraction of the cost
