You guys know these First Model 1894s are highly sought after, so here's your chance. Only a few thousand exist, mixed in from serial # 1 through somewhere in the 7400 range. This rifle was recently acquired fresh out of an Upstate NY collection and is all original right down to the sights, early widow's peak hammer, correct "cutout" cartridge lifter, and the famous 10 O'Clock screws in the receiver. Stocks are sound, no splits or cracks, no extra holes, and do have an extra coating of linseed oil for protection. Receiver blue gone and now gun metal gray. Barrel and mag a mix of plum and patina with about 35-40% coverage. Butt plate, fore-end cap and lever have all silvered out and do not show any traces of case colors. Hammer does has traces of case colors remaining. Action is crisp and tight. Mainspring is strong and half-cock safety functions properly. Bore in the correct length 26" barrel is very good, about an 8 of 10, surprising for an early black powder era 38-55. Just an honest, early 4 digit 1894 in the scarce First Model variation that is sure to appreciate in value over time.

For the past 30 years I have specialized in antique and vintage Winchester firearms, parts, sights, accessories and collectible ammunition. Combined from various internet sites, I have over 650 positive transaction feedbacks, so you can feel confident that my items are presented and described honestly. I am a member of the Winchester Arms Collectors Association, the Buffalo Bill Historical Society/Cody Firearms Museum, and a Life Member of the NRA. I am always looking to purchase single pieces or collections.
