About as good as it gets... Here is an outstanding and exceedingly scarce Pre War, Pre "A" Model Winchester 52 Sporter. The Winchester 52 is regarded by many as the finest .22 rifle ever created, and the Pre A Sporter version the finest of them all! S/N 36xxx Mfg. 1936. 99% Blue, 98%+ Varnish with a few faint collector type handling marks in the wood only. Excellent original condition with no drill holes or other alterations of any kind. The screws are in nearly perfect alignment and heads do not appear to have ever been turned since initial assembly over 80 years ago!. I have only seen a handful of this specific model ever surface through years of searching, and this one eclipses all I have seen in terms of condition and originality. 24" barrel with excellent bore. Correct sights including factory installed, very rare version Lyman 48 peep and Gold Bead front. The original factory 5 shot magazine and true pre war swivels are also included.
