German DWM Luger Parabellum Pistol 1908 in 9mm
Late Pre-WWI Production Dated 1913
Here we present an Imperial German DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) Pistole Parabellum 1908 Military Luger Pistol, made in 1913 in Berlin. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical and productive fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with Germany during both World Wars.
This pistol was issued to the German military just on the cusp of the Great War. It features the “DWM” monogrammed logo on the top of the toggle. Serial numbering is in the military style, not hidden. The military proof Germanic eagle is present on the breech, receiver and barrel. Included on the barrel is the stamp of Böhler Steel “Bö”.
The overall condition is fine. About 95% of the original rust blue with nearly complete straw colors are present. All markings are clear and legible. The checkered walnut stocks are in fine condition with sharp checkering and little wear. Serial numbers match. Bore is very good. The action is excellent.
