HISTORIC BROWNING BROS CO. OGDEN, U MARKED ANTIQUE SERIAL NUMBER CLASSIC 1894 OCTAGON RIFLE, .30WCF, #55XXX, MADE 1896! There's a good chance the famed inventor Jonathan Browning himself handled this rifle as it was on that was obviously shipped to the Browning Shop in Ogden, Utah. Marking is in typical small letters just ahead of the rear sight on the barrel top. A really nice condition verifiable western rifle that shows fine deep barrel and mag blue that shows a little age and edge wear, three leaf express rear sight with all leaves intact, standard Winchester front sight, receiver shows good blue on the sides and bolt with some thinning overall and edge and bottom wear to gray, exc. markings, fine+ wood shows normal light handling, good wood to metal fit, exc. screws look pretty much untouched, bore slightly dark and needs a good clean but will scrub out exc., tight action, lots of history in this antique serial number 1894!
