Another rifle just released from a local collection - Winchester Model 1894 Full Deluxe rifle in caliber 30 WCF. 135xxx serial range. Factory records show serial # applied December 18, 1901.

Very rare having a full deluxe with an extra lightweight 1/2 octagon barrel. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, no extra holes, never sanded or refinished, typical light dings and usage marks. Checkering in good condition, showing normal wear and never having been re-cut. Original widow's peak hard rubber buttplate. Lyman #4 hunting front sight in correct factory ramp. Original rear sight with patent date thumbprint elevator. Receiver mostly light patina and upper tang shows old evidence of a tang sight as well as light cleaning to remove something as it is shinier than the rest of the metal. Barrel about 15-20% patina. Action is tight and main spring is strong. Half-cock safety funtioning properly. Bore is good with nice rifling, gray in the grooves, no pitting but not shiny either. Upper inletting of buttstock has assembly # 7434 and 94 stamped in it. Lower tang has old assembly # 10322 and the letters CF struck through. Upper tang same side has assembly # 7434, XXX for the stock grading, an O, and two other characters I can't make out. Removal of the buttplate reveals the correct factory drilled hole for an extra light weight rifle to lighten the weight of the stock. Neat rifle with rare combination of features that will make a great addition to any Winchester collection.
