Description:

A unique H & R Top Break Auto-Ejecting Double Action Revolver, 2nd Model, 5th Variation (with five patent dates: Oct-4-87, May 14 & Aug-6-89, April-2-95, April-7-96).  Made between 1897 and 1904.  Main serial #C71381 on underside of topstrap.  Under grips on frame near left butt is #71381.  The inside of both grips has #71381 scratched in.  Rear of cylinder and ejector both bear assembly #156.  All markings, such as barrel address, are bold and clear.

Inscribed on left side of barrel is the name “Pappy Wagner”, with the first name inscribed in quotations (“Pappy”).  Last name is inscribed on backstrap in quotation “Wagner” and first name inscribed on top of frame above cylinder “Pappy”.  Might be interesting to research.

This five-shot revolver is chambered for 32 S&W, a short cartridge that was popular late 1890’s through 1920’s.  The barrel measures 3-1/4”, the original length.  Traces of original nickel remain, with the 99% balance being an even brown color.  Bore has strong rifling with scattered light pitting as expected.  The gun functions properly in both single action and double action, with a loose lockup expected for an average gun having this amount of wear.  When broken open, the spider ejects the shells as designed.  The detent (small button) in left side of topstrap locks the barrel release catch in the upward position for cylinder removal.  The hard rubber grips are original, fit extremely well, and have a slight even wear to checkering on both sides.  Both grips have tiny chips where they meet the straps (seen in pictures).

Must be shipped to an FFL licensed dealer.

Terms:
