The barrels were made by Stephen Woods of Purdey and have matted ribs and raised platinum front sight beads. The receiver is fully covered with breath taking Bulino style engraving performed by Purdey master engraver Stephen Kelly. His 'SKS" signature is on the bottom of the receiver. The right side features three cock pheasants in flight. The left shows a hunter flushing a covey of quail and the underside has a retriever and downed pheasant. Impeccably rendered floral designs surround all of these scenes.
The shotgun has a highly figured oil-finish English walnut stock with straight grip and forend. There is extra fine checkering on the forearm, grip and butt. The initials 'FAD" are engraved in gold in the under stock. This fine custom set comes with a russet leather luggage case with a maroon lining. The Purdey specification label and a gold plaque "to Fred", dated 'May 7, 1991' are attached to the inside of the lid. A complete set of accessories are in the case.
