With a total quantity estimated at 3000 to 5000 made in both percussion and metallic cartridge conversion, this Remington double action New Model Belt Revolver is a scarce gun. Production spanned from 1863 to 1873, with the later production revolvers built as cartridge conversions. This is a factory conversion with the special two piece cylinder chambered for the .38 Rimfire cartridge. This Remington has a brown/blue patina and the original walnut grips. The trigger will still spin the cylinder and work the hammer in double action, but it doesn't seem to be in-time with the bolt. A nice complete original example of this scarce revolver.
