Description:
A  nice percussion Gentleman's pistol made by YOUNG of London, England, (inscribed on the hammer plate, right side) circa 1840 in EXCELLENT condition. The 6" octogon barrel, 60 caliber, along with the hammer and lock  and trigger  are blued with 80 to 90% of the finish remaining. The trigger guard and remaining metal parts appear to be finished as bright steel. The trigger guard, lock, hammer and tang are all engraved. There is a blank escutcheon plate set in the wood below the barrel tang. There is a full walnut stock nicely checkered at the grip.. The action is strong and the hammer holds on full and half cock. The top of the barrel is marked: "London _ Fine- Twisted". A very nice pistol still showing its original high quality workmanship.
