Description:
This is an excellent condition Colt Camp Perry .22 caliber single shot target revolver. Colt introduced the Camp Perry model in 1926 to compete with the Smith & Wesson, H&R USRA, Hopkins & Allen and Stevens single shot pistols. It was designed on the already well accepted Officers Model Target frame and Colt advertised that it had the same grip and feel. These became very popular with target shooters and were an instant success at the Camp Perry, Ohio national competition. Records were set and Olympic Gold Medals won using the Camp Perry pistols. This gun remains in excellent condition and I would rate the bluing at 99% plus. It is certainly the best condition Camp Perry to hit the market in many years. The bore is excellent and the gun locks up tight. The factory checkered walnut grips are in perfect condition and free from chips and cracks. This gun was made in 1937 and was the second design with an 8” barrel that was manufactured from 1934-1941. Colt stopped production of the Camp Perry pistols in 1941 with the outbreak of WWII and never re-introduced it after the war. The total production run of the 8” barrel Camp Perry was approximately 360 guns making it one of the least produced pre war Colt pistols. This is your chance to own a piece of Colt history. Also included is several copies of early Colt paperwork and a .22 cartridge box from Camp Perry. A highly collectible pre war Colt that would be hard to improve on. I offer a three day inspection on all of my guns and it will be packaged correctly with the gun being shipped in a zipper pouch. This gun requires a C&R or FFL license for shipment.
