Description:
An amazing 91 year old rifle in outstanding, all original condition except for one unfortunate, small but noticeable repair where it appears a rear swivel stud probably ripped out. The area is now solidly repaired with epoxy fill and original stud, but really needs a wood inlay by someone who knows what they are doing. With that said, just take a look at this otherwise amazing rifle. It is unaltered with excellent finishes and no drill holes on top of rear receiver bridge, and no bolt alteration. There were only about 50,000 or so of these made in ALL configurations, and there are almost no survivors left that have not been butchered for scope use with drill holes, funky bolt handles (which also ruined the stocks) replaced safeties, etc. The Bluing is outstanding with the only notable wear being a couple spots of oxidation under barrel near muzzle end. Even the bottom metal is nearly perfect, almost unheard of with 54s. Wood is equally nice besides the repair. Has correct sights (All VERY expensive). 24" barrel with excellent bore and flawless mechanics. Bolt serial# matches receiver. A really great rifle that deserves an expert wood man's touch to restore it to most of it's former glory! I can accept credit card payment with 3% fee.
