Description:
HRA M1 Garand, serial number 56261xx, made around 1954. HRA 8-54 barrel with a bright bore and excellent measurements. All marked parts are HRA including the stock, all are described below and shown in photos. No import marks. This rifle is in excellent used condition.

The gun has been disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated. Parts were clean for photos, coated with oil and greased where appropriate when reassembled.
 
Two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) and sling are included.

HRA M1 sn 56261xx Specs:
 
 
  • Receiver: marked “6528291” on leg, heat lot “B”. Excellent condition, absolutely no pitting, no scratches or gouges, slightly worn finish at corners.
  • Barrel: marked “HRA 6353448 8-54 RS36” in op rod slot, with “P” and punch marks, “M”, small stars and eagle, and a few other misc. marks. Chrome pads at gas port. Bore is bright, rifling and crown excellent, chamber in the white. External finish is in very good condition, no pitting, a little wear on the exposed section.
  • Lower band: two piece flat top with roll pin
  • Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW(muzzle wear): 1 TE(throat erosion): 1 1/2 
  • Clip latch: square front type, unmarked
  • Op rod: marked “6535382 HRA.”, excellent condition, slight finish wear at corners, no pitting. Op rod and bolt cycle freely by tilting when everything is assembled except main spring and hammer (Garands with binding or rubbing op rods tend to have feeding and/or ejecting problems).
  • Op rod catch: HRA/SA/IHC type, unmarked
  • Bullet guide: stamped with notch, unmarked
  • Follower: late type, unmarked
  • Follower arm: no bevel, unmarked
  • Follower rod: long fork, riveted, unmarked
  • Bolt: marked “658287 HRA .U.”
  • Firing pin: half round, no chrome tip, unmarked
  • Elevation knob: marked “HRA”
  • Windage knob: marked “DRC”
  • Rear sight base: late SA/HRA type, unmarked
  • Rear sight aperture: SA/HRA type, double track
  • Trigger housing:  marked “6528290-HRA N”. Small pad, cloverleaf hole, no pitting, nearly new condition
  • Trigger guard: stamped with stamped hook
  • Trigger: late type, no extra hole
  • Hammer: marked “HRA 5546008”
  • Hammer spring plunger: postwar type, no wings
  • Safety: round top, marked “HRA”
  • Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring. Gas cylinder group finish is good, with some wear.
  • Front sight: 0.74 wide, unmarked
  • Gas cylinder lock: postwar high hump type, unmarked
  • Gas cylinder lock screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “HRA” and “O”
  • Stock: walnut, clearly HRA from thickness at pistol grip and the “horseshoe”. Circled “P” on pistol grip, 1/2” stars and eagle (DAS) on left side. No cracks, has dings from handling, none severe, very nice appearance.
  • Buttplate: round plunger type, exc condition
  • Stock ferrule: no hole type
  • Handguards: walnut, same condition as stock
  • Sling: postwar, we believe this to be 1954 or very close, near new condition
