MUCH BETTER THAN NORMALLY ENCOUNTERED, CLASSIC 1873 .44-40 SADDLE RING CARBINE, MADE 1892, a really fine example that still retains about half the fine receiver blue with the balance evenly mixing plum and brown with normal edge wear, fine "44 CAL" marked brass lifter has some normal light scratches- all minor, barrel shows good aged blue with slight mixing plum/brown, mag tube gray/brown with some blue in the protected areas, dust cover looks like a replacement, exc. stock and forearm shows light handling only and tight wood to metal fit, correct "1873" marked carbine ladder sight with slide intact, traces of case color on hammer and lever, fine bore with good rifling and scattered light roughness that might clean out better, exc. markings, in all a really fine example in a classic caliber.
