General Specs: Browning, Belgium, Year 2007, 20 Gauge, 6bls 3oz, Side by Side Serial Number: 938CS02007 Browning has always had a penchant to read the desires of the shooting sports world and realized that many traditional shooters preferred the side x side shotgun. They first came out with the Browning BSS, a Miroku Japan made gun that frankly was/is a club of a gun. Browning then had Miroku come out with a sidelock gun, the BSS SL that was nicer, but lacked the class and dynamics of fine English or Continental double guns. Browning’s premium guns have always been associated with Belgium and so it was natural for them to partner with one of the finest Belgium gun makers in history, Lebeau-Courally (LC). LC had been making the finest guns (and the world’s best watches) since the late 1800’s and have been called the European “PURDEY”. This fine Browning BSL (Browning Side Lock) was produced in 2007 as a grade LC 1 in 20 gauge. It is immaculately hand fitted with all internal parts highly polished, Holland & Holland type sidelocks, the bullet proof Southgate ejector system, finely struck chopper lump barrels; French walnut stock with far more figure than any other LC 1 you will see WITH PERFECT GRAIN LAYOUT THROUGH THE WRIST. This is important for strength and this particular stock is laid out to utter perfection. Look at the figure, the wood-to-metal fit, the perfect hand cut checkering…this is fine craftsmanship! The tasteful scroll and border engraving is hand cut and signed by “LESIRE”, the screws and mechanics are perfect, and the gun shows as new. Cased in the Browning Custom Shop case and gun socks, the gun will make the next owner proud in the field for upland game or at the club shooting sporting clays. With its 27” IC/F barrels and 6lb. 3oz. dynamically balanced weight it is fast to shoulder and delightful in hand. There are very few of these guns offered for sale and the Browning collector/shooter can have the best example offered at a very attractive price. Thanks for looking!
