Description:
This is a very nice early ( 1963) German Mark V Weatherby. # 3 coutour 26 inch barrel.  The bluing is like new, the stock has a nicely  grained California walnut stock with great early checkering.,  some handling dings.are present. The bolt itself, not the bolt handle has turned the nice Weatherby plum color.
The scope mount is an offset quick disconnect  mount made by Jaeger, thereby inabiling the shooter to utilize the factory fixed sights when necessary.  The Jaeger mount  was a factory installation by Weatherby back in the day. I have an early German Weatherby 4 power scope on the mount. The fixed sights on a Mark V are quite rare, probably only special order.  I have owned the gun for approximately 30 years and have had it on Moose and deer hunts in Maine. Using factory Weatherby 180 Grain ammo she is quite accurate.  the only down side is the weight, approximately 9 pounds.
